He said: “Our generous hosts, Cleethorpes Cricket Club have expressed a wish to enter a Team, from their newly-formed Ladies Section.
“Please remember that the main reason for this event is to raise funds for the Festival.
We ask that each Team contribute £60, in the hope that £10 per player is an acceptable amount.”
The games are played in accordance with Kwik Cricket format / rules. Working on the basis of a 6 Team competition, there will be 2 Leagues of 3 Teams. Each Team will play 2 games in these Leagues, with the top 2 Teams going forward to the Semi Finals.
The winners of these will go into the Final.
The Batting side is split into 3 pairs of Batsmen.
Each pair will bat for 2 x 6 Ball Overs.
Runs are scored either by running between the wickets, or by hitting the ball to the boundary for 6 runs, or over the Boundary without bouncing, for 10 Runs.
Wickets (Outs) are lost in the usual manner, except, there are no LBW’s or Timed Out options.
Each time a wicket is lost, 10 runs will be deducted from the score.
The Batting pair will continue to bat for their full 2 Overs.
Each Team Member of the Bowling side will bowl one 6 Ball Over.
Balls may be bowled over-arm or under-arm, but the Bowler’s feet must be behind the Bowling Crease at the time of releasing the Ball.
“I hope you all agree that these are not difficult to follow, but I will be giving a briefing on the day.”
