Freemasons from Horncastle’s Round Table and Olive Union Lodges joined forces to organise a charity fishing match and hog roast at the lovely Tetford Country Cottages and Fishing Lakes courtesy of Ray and Marie Whitley.
Writes David Freeman: “The weather was superb and the fishing was enjoyed by 30 anglers. The hog roast started at six, and was attended by more than 150 people, who enjoyed the wonderful setting and weather with good food, wine and beer.
“The festivities went on into the night with a charity auction raising a £1,000 bringing the total amount raised £4200 which will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
”Meanwhile, the now-annual Whisky Festival took place at Horncastle, and has been given its own report on these pages.”
