Lincolnshire Rough Ashlars went to Nottinghamshire for their first inter-province visit. The stage was set to be a fantastic evening. There was to be a Second Degree Ceremony, a Provincial team visit, and members of The Byron Club, Nottinghamshire’s Light Blues Club, would also be there.
Steve Henman said: “It was great to meet our brethren from the Byron Club after all the planning that went into this visit. We caught up in the bar before head into the lodge room.
“One of the greatest things about visiting is those slight differences we see between lodges. What was really nice to see was the way in which Nottighamshire conducted their first official visit of their new season, headed by APGM W.Bro Graham Green. The corresponding Provincial officers took over the lodge officer roles to open the lodge before handing back to the WM and his team.
“The ceremony was fantastic and it was brilliant to see so many light blues taking on challenging pieces of work such as the Tracing Board and Extend Working Tools. The lodge and it’s members really did themselves proud and you could see that the candidate was enjoying it.
“Plenty of food, drinks and singing followed at the festive board and we all had more time to chat, share ideas and success stories. We are already in told about a return visit and hopefully it is the foundation stone of what could develop into a wonder cross border relationship.
“Thank you to University Of Nottingham Lodge for hosting and for to the Byron Club for originally inviting us. We look forward to your visit to us and many more back and forth in the future.”
