A man described by his Lodge DC as the ‘Swiss Army knife’ of Doric Lodge has been honoured with a fifty-year certificate.
DC Ralf Galloway said of Keith Harrison: “In 50 years of membership of this Lodge Keith has missed only three ceremonies. I call him my ‘Swiss Army knife’ because he whenever I need to fill a position, he is there. He is an outstanding example to the younger Brethren; his enthusiasm and willingness to step in are just amazing.”
Former APGM Peter Brooks, also a Doric Lodge member, presented Keith with his certificate assisted by Keith’s son Richard. The presentation was made 50 years to the day after Keith’s initiation. Ralf looked back at March 1975, saying: “On TV the sitcom The Good Life first appeared, the Netherlands won the Eurovision Song Contest, and the Rubik’s cube was invented.”
Freemasonry had more members attending too; at Keith’s initiation 57 Lodge members were present, and brought 39 visitors…
