It’s almost the moment we’ve been working towards since January 2020 – the moment when we can reveal how much money we’ve raised through our #Lincs 2025 Festival in aid of the Freemasons’ charity the MCF.
We were challenged to collect £2.25million, and although we know we’re comfortably above £2million, just how far above remains to be seen. It’s a number still being added to with last-minute donations and pledges, and fewer than half a dozen people in the Province have seen how far it’s risen.
So have we bettered £2.25million? To find the answer to this closely guarded secret for yourself the instant the number is announced you’ll need to be at the Festival Finale taking place at the Lincolnshire Showground on September 13th.
Says Provincial Grand Master Dave Wheeler: “There have been hurdles along the way to reaching the end of this Festival. Who could have predicted that a matter of weeks into it that we would be beset with the Covid pandemic and the lockdowns which followed?
“These had the potential to make a severe dent in our fund-raising efforts, but I’m proud to say that the Freemasons in this Province rose above those challenges. Persevering with fundraising efforts we will no doubt reach a total well worth celebrating, and I’d be pleased to share our landmark achievement with as many of our members as possible.”
Festival Chairman Jez Hyland added: “We can promise a night of celebration open to Freemasons, non-Masonic friends, and family members. It’s bound to be a night that will live long in the memory. Bookings are now open. An Early Bird discount is offered for those booking before the end of June, with an absolute final deadline of August 29th.”
