Having got off to a flying start with its inaugural meeting, the Scunthorpe Light Blue Dining Club is to meet regularly on the last Thursday of the month.
Organiser Nick Fell of the Lodge of St John said he’d been really encouraged by the response to the ‘opener’, which a number of people attending, and more backing his idea and indicating that they’d be interested in coming in the future.
Encouraged by the response, he said it was worthwhile to seek to establish a regular date, but acknowledged that it wold be hard to find a date which always suited everyone – with so many Masonic commitments, it was virtually impossible too select a date suitable for everyone.
The next event will be on Thursday 25th April, once again at the Queensway in Scunthorpe and starting at 6pm. Invitations have been sent to all Lodges in Scunthorpe, Brigg, Barton, Crowle, and Gainsborough. Booking is simple; just drop a line to Nick at nicholas.fell@britishsteel.co.uk
“Said Nick: “It’s really informal. Just turn up at six o’clock, order and pay for your own meal at the bar, and enjoy a lively night of conversation. Everyone’s welcome. We’ll even make ‘dark blue’ members honorary Light Blues for the night. The Queensway have been very helpful in setting aside a dedicated dining area for us.”
