Potential new candidates for Lodges or Chapters increasingly turn to the internet for information – and our Provincial web site is the perfect shop window to show them what yours can offer.
Under the Masonic Centres tab on our web site here we list all of our Craft Lodges and Royal Arch Chapters, handily grouped by the centre at which they meet. Says Provincial Membership Officer Mike Clay: “There’s information about each one discoverable simply by clicking on its name – or at least there would be, if every Lodge and Chapter had supplied some information and its logo for us to add.
“The ones that have supplied this information have their names shown in bold. They’re the ones which stand more of a chance of attracting new members, so I can see no reason why any Lodge or Chapter wouldn’t want to take this opportunity to showcase itself, its history, and what members could gain by joining. Imagine if a new member chose another Lodge at your centre at least partly because they had a profile on the web site and you didn’t. What a lost opportunity!”
Mike said having an online profile was just one step Lodges or Chapters could take to boost membership. “But it’s probably the simplest to achieve,” he said. “Lodge or Chapter profiles don’t need to be complicated. Just tell us a bit about your history, and what members can share by joining. Click on a bold Lodge or Chapter name to find out what others have written, and when you’ve created something, email it to me at pmolincs@gmail.com. If you’re unsure of what to say, contact Stuart Pearcey. He’s our Provincial Communications Officer. He can probably be persuaded to help you. Email stuart@wordsman.co.uk.”
